The Vintage Port Single “Quinta” is a world that worths discovering. For many reasons. On the one hand, they are usually launched in years that are not of generalized declaration and therefore it is possible to acquire them at more agreeable prices (often, as is the case of this “Cavadinha”, the producer does part of the work of the consumer, taking it to the market only after 10-15 years, with the guarantee that it was kept in optimum condition); on the other hand allows you to perceive the profile of the wines of each of the farms of the mother house and what influence they have in creating the final lots of the great Vintage of the classic years – may not seem very interesting when we are taking the first steps in this world, but after a few years and some experience, it is a very interesting exercise. “Quinta da Cavadinha” is emblematic in the “Douro”, located in the “Pinh‹o” valley, and is characterized by the existence of large slopes (from 180 to 440 meters of altitude) and an exhibition that allows you to create wines of great complexity and character, for which also contributes to the high percentage of implantation of old vineyard in the estate. The color still impresses by the deep grenade. On the nose, black and red fruit, with obvious notes of candy, with a touch of spices and tar. Intense, with excellent acidity and well present tannins, it feels young, giving enough pleasure to drink. Excellent Price/Quality Ratio!
