This is a white that I greatly admire, essentially for its originality. Old vineyards of Riesling and Gewürztraminer (in addition to “Malvasia Fina”) of “Tr‡s-os-Montes”? Single … In the glass is citrus with hints of green lime. In the nose, the presence of the Riesling apetrolates are not deceiving and could only be overlooked by the fact that an unsuspecting connoisseur is not aware of such an unusual mixture of grape varieties. In the mouth, Riesling’s citrus is there, but it’s Gewürztraminer’s rose petals and lychees that catch the eye and gain prominence as the temperature rises. These sweeter profile notes are balanced by mineral and crystalline dryness with a vibrant acidity. For being so different it is not easy to choose company for him, but in this case what most impressed me was the beautiful transition to an excellent Chinese green tea at the end of the meal!
