Herdade do Portocarro Partage Galego Dourado 2015
J. Mota Captain has some vineyards near the Atlantic coast of Alentejo, well away from the hot and dry lands of Torrão (where it is the Estate of Portocarro itself). It is from these Atlantic vines that comes the white Tailor. And it is here that experiences have been made, namely the planting of non-native varieties. This is the first harvest of this Galego Dourado (caste in the process of extinction) with just over 1000 bottles.
A very fine and salty aroma. In the mouth it fades a little and you notice a slight gas (will be just this bottle?). Slightly full bodied, elegant and tasty, the end is fresh but slightly prolonged. To be honest, I expected better … But I feel like opening another bottle in a while would be possible.
