Legado 2009

To open a wine of this dimension, it takes a special occasion. Easter may well be one of those occasions. It is a somewhat sentimental wine, as regards Sogrape. Unlike the Barca Velha, which is a lot wine and several vineyards, Legado comes only from the older vineyards of Quinta do Caêdo, near S. João da Pesqueira.

When we opened the bottle, we were frightened: the cork was crumbling all over … and we feared the worst … We were very careful to get everything out, and nothing fell into the bottle … We could not find an explanation for what happened. For the wine is in point, in all its splendor: Fantastic aroma, velvet mouth, and endless end (here I am exaggerating a little). It’s those full-bodied wines, but elegant at the same time, in which the fruit and the wood are married perfectly … and in what drink it is only pleasure …

The price is what it is … Not everyone can get there … And some who can, it’s only on special occasions ..
