Vinhos com História 2.0
In another test with the presence of an excellent company, this time to harmonize the wine with a beautiful “feijoada”.
After some doubts whether an old or new wine, with too much body or little body to compensate the fat of this traditional Portuguese dish. Doubtlessly, we tried an old wine and a new one.
As an old wine, there appeared a beautiful Casa de Santar 2002, a wine that has come a long way, already in its descending phase but still in shape for the fight. A pleasant couple who called with the “feijoada”.
As new wine, Manuel presented a wine that when I smelled and tasted, gave me the clear sensation that fulfilled my requirements for a Douro wine. A good wine, very nice, without edges, fresh, with volume and memory at the end of the mouth. It’s a douro, I say. And what grade asks Manuel? Being a good douro, it is certainly about 14 degrees. As for the year, I aim for 2013. With the “feijoada”, it connected very well and quickly this nectar disappeared from the glasses. When Manuel introduced the bottle, I’m happy because it is not normal for us to hit all the parameters under evaluation. The wine is a Douro Quinta da Costa das Aguaneiras 2013 with a beautiful 14 degres volume of alcohol.
I am very happy and it gives me hope for the next trials.
