This restaurant, a former meeting place for fishermen returning from work, has been increasingly a reference of Peniche, I’ve never been there but many times people had told me about it.
Immediately upon entering the restaurant we get a smile on our faces, we see a panoply of wines throughout the restaurant and at the entrance, a wine cellar that becomes a must visit after the meal.
We are immediately attended because without possibility of reservation they asked us to be there early and therefore there would be availability of table.
Dismissing the entrances, we asked for some of the reference dishes of this restaurant, namely Portuguese stew, Joel cod, sea bass for 3 people and a veal stand.
Time to choose the wines and we accept the suggestion of a French white wine, made by a Portuguese oenologist they said, that supposedly belonged to “Quinta do Pessegueiro”, the wine Chateau Saint Maur 2011 of Côtes de Provence, 13 degrees of alcohol elaborated from the grape varieties cinsault, grenache and syrah. For the more robust dishes, the Douro Meruge 2014 wine from the “Lavradores de Feitoria”.
The wines were a success, the white one with a very yellow color, fresh aroma, something tropical, with some body and balanced. It revealed a good price relation, 13,5 euros in the restaurant, and the red wine was completely consensual, being a typical douro wine, “touriga nacional”, “tinta roriz” e “touriga franca”, floral aroma, round mouth with medium body and balanced end, 27 euros in the restaurant, so we have to consider the wine list, in addition to wines in quantity and in quality, constitutes a very good quality-price ratio.

At the end of Sunday lunch, we remember that the quality of the food is really extraordinary and worth knowing, the wine list is very friendly with wine, quality and quantity, very good value for money and the service is friendly and available. As a repair, the room becomes a bit noisy also because the restaurant has take away service.
