Valpolicella Clássico Allegrini 2016

I did not know this wine, and as such, I took it to a friends dinner to surprise them and see how this Italian wine would hold up with the food. The world does not live only with pizza or spaghetti and there are good Italian gastronomic wines.

The wine surprised me positively by its lightness, simplicity and good aromas of fruit. It is a very social wine. By the way, for those who like full-bodied wines, with very evident tannins and with a long finish, it disappoints on these points. It is a good wine but the end of mouth is very short.

As far as the gastronomic harmonization is concerned, it did not connect with a stew of beef, it is a very light wine for a heavy food, with a well-seasoned sauce (a “Dão” is perfectly linked with this dish). For this wine, probably the connection with white meats will be very good. I tried cheese, it failed with the Roquefort and in the Azores but with camembert, cheese less intense and more greasy, the wine called perfectly.
