Chão do Vale Branco 2017
The Chão de São Francisco project, “Chão”, being the name by which a parcel of cultivated land in the Dão and Chão da Quinta region was formerly given, in homage to the people of the Dão land and, in this case, to everyone those who contributed with their effort and dedication so that the Chão de São Francisco would last until today.
This family project, started in 1996, results from the achievement of an objective of the patriarch, Horácio Marques da Rua, to produce and market DOC wines of recognized quality.
The DOP Dão Chão da Quinta wines, owned by the company Chão de São Francisco, are produced at Quinta de São Francisco, which also produce the Chão do Vale PDO Lafões white wines, from Quinta da Colmeia in Villar, São Miguel do Mato, Vouzela , old property of the family, in an attempt to preserve and protect the weakened and almost extinct demarcated region of Lafões. Quinta de São Francisco is located in the village of Lourosa de Cima, 5 km from Viseu.
This wine, number 715 from just 2000 bottles, corresponds to a blend of 13 grape varieties with a predominance of Dona branca, Cerceal and Arinto, and the vines have been planted since 1935. It has a bright yellow color, fresh and elegant aroma, with pleasant floral and fruity notes. In the mouth it is fine, but structured, complex with acidity that makes it gastronomic and with a seductive minerality. Persistent, which allows you to prolong the pleasure at the table. Being an innovative project, which seeks to stand out for its difference and quality, this white does justice to all that, from a unique terroir comes a wine to remember and that makes us pay attention to what is being developed there of great quality.
